The Treaty of Versailles
The Treaty of Versailles helped develop the nationalism of Canada because the Prime Minister at the time, Sir Robert Borden, pushed to get the signatures of the separate Dominions that made up the British Empire. This made Canada’s views visible to the rest of the world even though in the end the British PM signed the treaty for all the Dominions, lessening the importance of the push by Borden. Canada had joined the League of Nations when the treaty was signed, which improved the overall appearance of Canada to the world by showing their importance in World War 1. This improved the nationalism of Canada by revealing the involvement that Canada had in World War 1.
